What does God say about how to practice self-compassion? How can we offer grace for our mistakes while also strive to be our best? How does God want us to be compassionate for others and for ourselves? How can self-compassion renew our minds?

In today’s podcast episode we’ll talk about the importance of practicing compassion towards ourselves, including compassion bible verses and compassion bible stories. We’ll discover how being self-compassionate as Christian women is an important mindset for mental health, for soul care and to be able to renew our minds according to God’s word.

We’ll talk about:
  • Bible verses on compassion
  • Several Bible stories where we see God's compassion
  • How Jesus showed compassion to those around Him
  • The relationship between the inner critic and self-compassion
  • Why self-compassion is transformational in our ability to love others

We’ll talk about how, with God’s help, we can learn to cultivate a softer spirit towards ourselves and others through the supernatural gift of compassion.

Join us as we “unwrap” this next soul care gift and bring a bit more light and joy to our weary souls by tapping into how to practice biblical compassion.

Today's Question: Pt 3: Practice Self-Compassion

Here's today's action question to ask yourself (remember–open this gift within the next 24-48 hours so you can take the first step to enjoying this soul care gift!):

What is my inward response to recognizing pain? Do I hear a harsh voice? What does it say?

What is my first response to when others are in pain? Where might I have heard these voices? What would I like those voices to be instead?

Take some time to process these questions alone before God in a journal. Remember, it's OK to not have the answers to these questions but to let God speak to you in the midst of the difficult emotions.
